"Learning today...leading tomorrow" is our motto for teaching and nurturing Smith Leadership Academy students for success in the future. The Academy operates 190 days per year and offers an extended school day program, running from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day except Friday - an early release day to provide professional development time for teachers. The Academy also has a mandatory summer session for incoming 6th graders in which they receive remedial instruction in math and English as well as a tutorial on the high expectations and seven core values that are integral to the culture of the school.
